I am participating in "A week in the life" that Ali Edwards is doing. I really didn't take that many pictures today, didn't feel well.

Anyway, here is a scarf I finished for a friend. Just need to get in the mail.

I am having to make the envelopes for my Thanksgiving cards. Only finished a few this evening. I forgot to take pictures of the Halloween cards I made today. Still have a few more to go on this project.

Artwork by Wes. He did this this morning. He also made a pumpkin with googly eyes.

Yesterday we had ice cream cones after dinner. I just about died when I saw this. I had to run and get my camera. Just too funny.

Wes wants to be a bat for Halloween....with wings, um sure. I found a costume to make on Martha Stewarts website. I have a friend who just happens to have a broken black umbrella that she is going to give to me....yeah. Now I just have to actually make the costume. So. this is going to be very interesting.

Playing catch up...
Some pictures I took the other night of Wes playing in the leaves.

Such a cute picture.

Earlier that evening, Wes was painting and somehow managed to get green on his chin. I was trying to get pictures of it in between shots of him eating cerea. I so love this picture of him.

Last week was the Plum Run and then camping night. Here is Wes playing in the creek that runs along Granny Annie's property.

And this is what happens to new shoes when mom doesn't remember to bring rainboots or the old shoes.

Still on the hunt for a job. Have had interviews with a temp agency and a recruiter/headhunter. Will have to wait and see what happens with those places. Would really like to start by Oct. 7th. Which is coming up very fast.....have bills that need to get paid.

Wes spent the night at my dad's. He has been having fun. I go later this afternoon to pick him up. When I talked to him this morning, he was all excited about the toys that grandpa bought him. Oh joy. So, now I intended to enjoy my last few hours of freedom before it's time to leave....have a great weekend!

Altered Backpack

I altered a backpack for Wes. He needed a bigger one for school and I really didn't feel like spending lots of $$$ for a new one since we already have a few at home. So, I cut felt pieces to create Optimus Prime. Then added it to a piece of black felt and sewed it onto the backpack. Here is Wes showing it off. What do you think? Not too bad. It was easier to sew on the backpack than I thought it would be.
I'm about a fourth of the way done with my scarf. I won at bunko last night....so, I'm heading to Hobby Lobby later this afternoon to get some more yummy yarn!

Some craft goodies from this weekend.

I started making Thanksgiving cards on Saturday. Still have more to do....not too mention Halloween cards!

A couple "thank you" cards.

I went to Hobby Lobby this afternoon. Picked up size 11 knitting needles and some yummy yarn that was on sale. Will have to go back and get more of this yarn...reg. 6.29 on sale for 1.99, can't beat that.

This will be a scarf for me. I'm hoping to finish it tonight after bunko with the girls...maybe I can win some money to get more yarn! HaHa!
If you haven't already, go over to Vanilla Joy, http://www.vanillajoy.com/ and check out the AMAZING giveaway she is having. Someone is going to be very happy with the giveaway.

Someone got into the face paints and deciede to paint the plate instead.

We finally had a break in the rainy weather. Now it is nice and chilly outside....brrrr....

One of my nephew's. We were at a birthday party for another nephew. Anyway, Austin wanted to put on his Halloween costume that he had just gotten.

A blur of a birthday party.

I asked Wes what he wanted to dress up as for Halloween....he told me he wanted to be a bat. I asked for clarification....and yes, just a bat. So, I got on line and looked up how to make a bat costume. Yeah. This is going to take me awhile to make. I have to go find a black umbrella to take apart. Guess I know what I will be doing next weekend.

Halloween Links

I found some cute "candy dishes" to make this Halloween season. I so want to try these. For some reason, the picture isn't coming through....so here is the link....http://www.bhg.com/holidays/halloween/crafts/mummy-candy-pots/ and another cute door hanger...http://www.bhg.com/holidays/halloween/indoor-decorating/easy-halloween-door-hanging/. These are both from Better Homes and Gardens.

Here is one from Martha Stewart. Looks very easy, might be able to do this for Wes' kindergarten class.....http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.0e0eb51a2e6b5ad593598e10d373a0a0/?vgnextoid=f0b019d4e8523110VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&rsc=hiod_recipe_b

Gotta go look for more Halloween stuff....really getting in the mood, especially since is it rainy here and looks like it will be that way for the next 4 days.

So, instead of doing my real job this afternoon, I've been having some fun. I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up some t-shirts...they were on sale...50%off. I bought 8 shirts, 7 are for Wes and the other one is for a birthday present for our nephew. I plan on screen printing some Star Wars character on it. Since it is a Star Wars theme birthday party. I also decided to make a few stamps for myself. This is what I have made so far. I don't think they are too bad considering this is my first time. I plan on making at least two more. Not sure what just yet. And once Hobby Lobby has there 40% coupon out again, I will probably pick up some more carving blocks.

And with all the rain we've had in the last three days, it was time to break out the rain boots. Wes is so in love with these. He would wear them all day everyday, if I let him.

I had intended on also going to the thrift store today. Just ran out of time. Maybe tomorrow I will make it there. I've been getting some really great ideas on Threadbangers lately. My creative mojo is starting to come back...which is always nice. I also got a call from my brother. He is in another band and I got the contract to make the shirts. YEAH!!! Now I just have to figure out how to download the font they are using. More shirts are in my future.

Homework

A transformers shirt I made for Wes.

Someone didn't finish his worksheet at school. So, he had some homework to do this evening.

Funny, he has already stated that he hates homework. This is the first he has ever had.....

Nothing special.....

No pictures today....too much going on. Things have been crazy....and it doesn't help when you have a 5 year old boy that just won't be quiet when you are trying to get things done! It is driving me crazy. I made Wes a transformer shirt and started to make on with a bulldog on it. Just need to download the pictures. Have spent the last 2 days looking for another job. I'd prefer one in the evenings and one close to home. I applied to a dozen more today and will do the same tomorrow. I've even been thinking about going to temp agency. I found one job for photography, of course it is during the day and doesn't pay much, but it would be great experience. The downside with finding a job during the day....having to find daycare for Wes. Since kindergarten is still half days here and he goes in the afternoon. I really don't want my entire paycheck to go to them, unless it paid really really good. I did find a couple that would be perfect 2-11. Granted the training is for 4 weeks from 8-5, so I would need to find someone to put him on the bus for me. So, we will see what happens.

I think I am going to do some crafting tonight....while watching Bones!!!!!
