On Saturday, Wes and I went to the Kansas City Ren Fest with my dad and mom. It was soooo much fun. I haven't been in years!

Needless to say, Wes got whatever he wanted. Not pictured was the sword and shield he also go. Or the amount of junk food. There was also a skull bandanna, eye patch and pirate coin holder.

We even got his face painted....and sat still!!! I couldn't believe it.

Later that evening we went to a hayride at some friends house....an hour away. I was so tired by the end of the day. Just from walking around ren fest for 5 hours.

All was good and fun!

Robert's truck is ready....the transmission wasn't working right, so, we had to take it back and guess what??? it needed a new transmission....THANK GOD FOR WARRANTIES!!! The transmission we had put in in May had a year warranty. We pick it up this evening. Hopefully all will be well. We need something to go right for us. I'm still looking for a job. Haven't gotten anything yet. Applied to some more jobs last night and this afternoon. Hopefully something will come my way very, very quickly!!!!!

A few pictures from this past Saturday. This is one freaky picture I took of Wes playing in the leaves. Might just use it for Halloween costumes...

Thought this one is cute. Granted he would just throw the leaves at you. I have a couple pictures that are just a blur of leaves.

Brenna trying to get Wes to throw the leaves up in the air so she could get a picture. Needless to say, he just threw them at her face.

On other news, I'm still looking for a job. I've been to 4, count them 4 different temp agencies and none of them have jobs for me, yet they have them listed on their websites and on careerbuilder.com. I really don't know what is going on. I'm on the verge of tears here. I just want a job. And I'm getting very frustrated. Even the other jobs I've applied to, I haven't heard anything out of them. Guess I will be spending all of Tuesday calling every place I have applied to.
Wes and I have a busy day tomorrow, we are going to the KC Ren Fest in the morning and then in the late afternoon, early evening, we are going to a hayride. Should make for some great pictures. Need to remember to get back-up batteries. Guess I'll go do some crafting to take my mind off of things..........

I am participating in "A week in the life" that Ali Edwards is doing. I really didn't take that many pictures today, didn't feel well.

Anyway, here is a scarf I finished for a friend. Just need to get in the mail.

I am having to make the envelopes for my Thanksgiving cards. Only finished a few this evening. I forgot to take pictures of the Halloween cards I made today. Still have a few more to go on this project.

Artwork by Wes. He did this this morning. He also made a pumpkin with googly eyes.

Yesterday we had ice cream cones after dinner. I just about died when I saw this. I had to run and get my camera. Just too funny.

Wes wants to be a bat for Halloween....with wings, um sure. I found a costume to make on Martha Stewarts website. I have a friend who just happens to have a broken black umbrella that she is going to give to me....yeah. Now I just have to actually make the costume. So. this is going to be very interesting.

Playing catch up...
Some pictures I took the other night of Wes playing in the leaves.

Such a cute picture.

Earlier that evening, Wes was painting and somehow managed to get green on his chin. I was trying to get pictures of it in between shots of him eating cerea. I so love this picture of him.

Last week was the Plum Run and then camping night. Here is Wes playing in the creek that runs along Granny Annie's property.

And this is what happens to new shoes when mom doesn't remember to bring rainboots or the old shoes.

Still on the hunt for a job. Have had interviews with a temp agency and a recruiter/headhunter. Will have to wait and see what happens with those places. Would really like to start by Oct. 7th. Which is coming up very fast.....have bills that need to get paid.

Wes spent the night at my dad's. He has been having fun. I go later this afternoon to pick him up. When I talked to him this morning, he was all excited about the toys that grandpa bought him. Oh joy. So, now I intended to enjoy my last few hours of freedom before it's time to leave....have a great weekend!

Altered Backpack

I altered a backpack for Wes. He needed a bigger one for school and I really didn't feel like spending lots of $$$ for a new one since we already have a few at home. So, I cut felt pieces to create Optimus Prime. Then added it to a piece of black felt and sewed it onto the backpack. Here is Wes showing it off. What do you think? Not too bad. It was easier to sew on the backpack than I thought it would be.
I'm about a fourth of the way done with my scarf. I won at bunko last night....so, I'm heading to Hobby Lobby later this afternoon to get some more yummy yarn!

Some craft goodies from this weekend.

I started making Thanksgiving cards on Saturday. Still have more to do....not too mention Halloween cards!

A couple "thank you" cards.

I went to Hobby Lobby this afternoon. Picked up size 11 knitting needles and some yummy yarn that was on sale. Will have to go back and get more of this yarn...reg. 6.29 on sale for 1.99, can't beat that.

This will be a scarf for me. I'm hoping to finish it tonight after bunko with the girls...maybe I can win some money to get more yarn! HaHa!
If you haven't already, go over to Vanilla Joy, http://www.vanillajoy.com/ and check out the AMAZING giveaway she is having. Someone is going to be very happy with the giveaway.

Someone got into the face paints and deciede to paint the plate instead.

We finally had a break in the rainy weather. Now it is nice and chilly outside....brrrr....

One of my nephew's. We were at a birthday party for another nephew. Anyway, Austin wanted to put on his Halloween costume that he had just gotten.

A blur of a birthday party.

I asked Wes what he wanted to dress up as for Halloween....he told me he wanted to be a bat. I asked for clarification....and yes, just a bat. So, I got on line and looked up how to make a bat costume. Yeah. This is going to take me awhile to make. I have to go find a black umbrella to take apart. Guess I know what I will be doing next weekend.
